UNDERSTANDING DUCHENNE

Duchenne is the most common and fatal form of muscular dystrophy. It is a progressive, muscle-wasting disease for which there is no known cure. But through advancements in medicine, physical therapy and research, healthcare providers are improving the lives of Duchenne patients every day.   • Demonstrate a depth of Duchenne knowledge.
  • Identify the stages of the disease.
  • Adapt physical therapy treatments to suit a patient’s needs.
  • Develop thorough care plans for patients and families.
  • Coordinate treatment with other providers.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Joni Redlich, PT, DPT, PCS is a board certified pediatric clinical specialist and owner of Kid PT LLC, a NJ based provider of physical and occupational therapy services in the clinic, school and community. Joni has been practicing since 2000 and has worked with children
of all ages and young adults with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in various settings, including the clinic, home and schools.

This course provides physical therapists the opportunity to become CureDuchenne Certified Physical Therapists.

This course has been approved and granted 6.5 Continuing Education Hours by the CE Committee of IPTA and by the ILOTA.
