Learn. Engage. Empower.

Caring for a child with Duchenne can be daunting, complicated, and often times, isolating. But it doesn’t have to be.

On October 22, CureDuchenne Cares will hold its inaugural Family Summit bringing together Duchenne families, medical providers and researchers for a daylong event focused on education and fellowship. The goal of this summit is to open doors — and arms — for Duchenne families hungry for information and support.  The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Orange County in Garden Grove, California.

The CureDuchenne Cares Family Summit was created with the entire family in mind, because the health of a Duchenne child depends on the primary support and treatment that the family provides at home. That’s why it’s vital that family members living with the Duchenne patient stay as up-to-date as possible on medical research and treatment plans in order to do their best to stay ahead of this difficult disease.

The theme of this year’s CureDuchenne Cares Family Summit is “Learn, Engage, Empower.” Duchenne families will learn from renowned specialists from the fields of neurology, orthopedics, and pulmonology. Social issues will also be addressed, including the challenges of transitioning into adulthood. The Summit also aims to provide families with the most recent, up-to-date research on home modifications and clinical trial information. While the adults are learning and engaging with one another, their children will spend the day enjoying a variety of fun activities. It will be an event that seeks to empower the whole family.

This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, including PTC Therapeutics, Sarepta Therapeutics, SITE SoCal, Invitae, Marathon Pharmaceuticals, Catabasis, Pfizer, Santhera Pharmaceuticals and Wave Life Sciences.
