WOW!
I'm happy to announce that the 5th Annual Link Up/Listen Up for the Cure event held Saturday (August 4) exceeded expectations. Most importantly, we raised more than $18,000!
This is a significant accomplishment. In 2005, we raised $900. In 2006, we raised $9,600. We are definitely headed in the right direction.

Catchpenny & The Phones:
I knew we were blessed with incredible musical talent but both the Phones and Catchpenny were simply awesome. Their "power jam" at the end of the night really brought people out to the dance floor. We are receiving important, impactful help from many sources but when it comes to implementing exciting, memorable events, I can't believe we could improve in this area.
The Raffle:
Thanks to Warners Stellian, Cummins Onan, Cullens Home Center-Wilmar and ReNew, our raffle was an incredible success generating more than $6,000.

The Silent Auction:
We generated $2,100 from the silent auction. Not bad considering that two weeks prior we didn't think we had any items to auction. Expect this element of the event to get better and better each year.
The Crowd:
I have never seen McDuffs as busy as it was on Saturday night. We must have spent most of the night at full capacity.
By the way, we are already preparing for the 2nd Annual Cuddle Up for the Cure Valentines theme dinner and concert. Look for this event to occur in early February, 2008.
