At CureDuchenne, we’re all gearing up for an exciting fundraising event. If you haven’t heard already, preparations for the “2009 Climb to Cure Duchenne” is well underway.
As many of you know, the research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is severely under-funded. It’s up to those committed enough to shout from the “mountaintops” to find a cure.

With that in mind, we’ve assembled a team of 12 dedicated climbers who will be facing the elements to summit Mt. Rainier in Washington State this August. mt-r

The climbers (made up of Parents, Musicians, and Scientists) are each busy raising $14,410 (the elevation of Mt. Rainier). Because of gracious sponsorship by Advanced Turbine Support and Ruby’s Diner Restaurants and REI, every dollar that the climbers receive will go directly to finding a cure!

This is one of the most daring events we have ever undertaken. We need to be as bold as possible to help our boys.

The goal is to raise over $173,000 for research!

We’re calling on everyone interested in finding a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to help us in this effort.

A new fundraising page has been set up to help the team reach their goal of $173K. Please visit: http://www.firstgiving.com/cureduchenne2009climb

We’re still eagerly seeking corporate sponsors to help our climbers raise money. All corporate sponsors who donate $5,000 or more will receive their logo and link on our website, logo included in summit photo opportunity, and special recognition on our film for this event.

Please let as many people as possible know about this event! And wish our climbers good luck!
