The 2nd Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament “Dealing for Duchenne” was held at the Petersen Automotive Museum on May 9th. It was a fantastic event which generated over $200,000 for research to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy!

Chris and Amy Martin, parents of a boy with DMD, took charge of the event by leading an amazing team of friends, family, and volunteers. The Martin family was honored to have many celebrities who attended last year’s event return this year. Among others, Joel Murray, Anne Heche & James Tupper, Willie Garson, Josh Malina, & the band Catch Penny were all in attendance.

Everyone enjoyed official Texas Hold ‘Em Style Poker put on by LA Poker. The night was further enhanced with catering by Wolfgang Puck.

A special moment was reserved for the 11 families present – all of whom have boys with DMD. Chris & Amy Martin, together with CureDuchenne Founders Debra & Paul Miller paid special tribute to the boys, the researchers, and the many thousands of people all reaching out to help find a cure.

The event was highlighted by a silent and live auction with many great items for bid. Some of the featured items included a Super Bowl Package, Wolfgang Puck Private Dinner for Eight, signed guitars by Fergie, Maroon 5, and Weezer, and more.

Special mention goes out to Joel Murray who led a very successful Live Auction. He not only kept everyone entertained but he also helped people remember the real reason the evening – to fund research for a cure.

Because of the success of the evening, CureDuchenne will be able to use the funds for a research clinic at UCLA whose core focus will be Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

A big “Thank You” to all the generous donors, vendors, and volunteers! Everyone involved spent their time, talents, and funds to add to the evening. Events this successful can’t happen without you! Even the photos you see here are thanks to photographer extraordinaire, Robin Ganter.

Again, thank you to everyone involved that made this event truly successful!

Please enjoy some photos from the evening.
