The mastermind behind the 2009 Climb to Cure Duchenne, Bill Procko, was featured recently in a local paper in Florida. This is just the first of a lot of media expsoure that this amazing event will receive.
If you haven’t heard, 12 climbers are in training right now to climb Mt. Rainier, WA this August to raise money for research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Each climber is now raising $14,410 each – the elevation of Mt. Rainier.
The idea for the Climb to Cure Duchenne event came to Bill while he was alone in the mountains. Since then, it has grown to become a major event which includes scientists, doctors, entertainers, and other active parents all working towards a cure.
